The Sony BDVE500W is a one box Blu-ray home theater solution. Sony tries to make buying and setting up a new home theater system as easy as possible. For around $650 dollars you will get everything you need except a high definition television.
What’s in the box?
The package includes a head unit that will power your sound system and will also act as your Blu-ray player. The player gives you a great 1080p HD picture with Blu-ray discs and will also upscale your existing DVD format movies to get the most out of your current DVD collection. The head unit has HDMI, Component and Composite video output. This makes for easy hook up to nearly any recent TV model, even if it’s not High Definition.
You will also get all the speakers you need for 5.1 surround system, including a powered sub-woofer. One of the nicest features that the Sony BDVE500W has to offer are the wireless rear channel speakers. So now regardless of the size or shape of your room, you won’t have wires running from the head unit to the opposite side of the room. The package even includes a microphone so the system can automatically calibrate settings for optimal performance.
