The Oppo DV-980H Player is great!
The OPPO DV-980H 1080p Up-Converting Universal DVD Player with HDMI and 7.1CH Audio is a very nice DVD player. It features multiple options for connecting it to your television, such as with S-Video, HDMI and several other options. It is very compatible with the televisions they have on the market today. 
There are also a variety of playback formats available. I love downloading movies via the internet and this DVD player can play the media I download and burn to disc. I think multiple playback is very important in a society of down loaders! I bought mine for around $200.00 and I think it is well worth it. It features Dolby Digital Surround EX decoding which is awesome.
The sharpness of this device is great but I do not feel as though it is much better that some of the other similar DVD player. It comes with a 1 year warranty so it anything happens, you can use the warranty. Its performance is pretty good and I highly doubt you will have any issues if you decide to buy one. I would recommend this to anyone. I am thinking about purchasing a second one for one of my other television sets. My only complaint is I think the front of the player could have had a better look, but that’s just my own opinion.
