Let’s cut to the chase. Everyone really wants to know how good this thing is at capturing I mean, you can’t really go wrong with 12.1 megapixels, right? A bit pricey –a whopping $350; however, it’s well worth the money. Especially if you’re a professional –or you moonlight as one like me– you can understand why this camera would actually cost so much. 12.1 megapixels is an insane resolution. You could capture a bird sneezing in a tree and still get a great image out of it.
This camera also comes with an EXPEED image processor –a new development in Nikon technology. This simply means you’ll be able to see the birds’ babies shield themselves for cover as she begins to sneeze.
Now, as far as getting perfect images every time, don’t hold your breath. There have been a couple times when I wanted to capture a lot of movement, mostly birds in flight –I’m a bird watcher by trade. Sometimes I’ve missed the moment I wanted because it took a second for the zoom to get its act together. But for the most part, this camera is great for photographers.
