The lens, of course, includes Nikon’s patented VR image stabilization — you won’t have to worry about erroneous shaking as you try to steady your hand held. It also ensures that no matter how fast your subject’s moving you’re going to get your picture.
The big surprise is the Vivitar UV filter. As the name suggests, this filter blocks ultraviolet light from reaching your film, getting rid of that gnarly hazy effect that comes with over exposure. The bonus comes with its ability to protect your lens from scratches. There are times when my camera bag is overstuffed –not great, but I was in a rush– and man was I glad I had that filter because my lens would have been worked!
