Nikon 18-200 VR II Telephoto Zoom Lens
The Nikon 18-200 VR II telephoto zoom lens is probably one of the best lenses you could probably get for the money it costs –about $850. Probably the most intriguing feature of this lens is its namesake –the Vibration Reduction. The VR is so powerful it actually allows handheld cameras the ability to shoot at four times slower the natural shutter speed –that means you’ll be capturing birds in flight, 100-metre dash races, anything that may require you to be able to capture moments of increased movement.
Another brilliant feature that I actually wasn’t expecting was the speed with which the autofocus functions. It’s virtually silent –in case you’re trying to sneak a picture at a play or something, this feature comes rather in handy. The Silent Wave Monitor, another Nikon specific feature, allows you to get your photos in focus quickly and with as little noise as possible.
I’d say this lens is worth the money you have to fork over. If you’re at all interested in a career as a photographer, you’ve got to think about getting this lens. The quality and its power are well worth the $850.
