AREA DIMENSIONS OF THE TV UNIT
Now that you know you want the largest consumer brand LCD TV available in the stores, be sure that the actual dimensions of the entire TV set are going to fit in your entertainment center or on that wall. Most LCD televisions with a diagonal screen measurement of 55″ have a dimension of 52″ by 33″ by 3″ deep. So double check if it will fit in the corner of the room you plan to hang it in or if it will fit in the opening in your entertainment center. If you plan on using the stand that it comes with, measure that also, to ensure your intended location will handle that size.

WEIGHT OF THE LCD TV
To pick the right size television also means considering the weight of that set. Are you going to hang it or place it on a table posing as an entertainment center? For example, if you plan on hanging a 55″ screen LCD television, be sure the wall studs will support a 50 pound unit. Even if you plan on a smaller unit and your hope is to place it under a cabinet or in a less conventional location – it’s weight should be an equal consideration in your plans to pick the right size television.

SCREEN SIZES AVAILABLE
Readily available LCD screen sizes range from as little as 8.5″ to as large as 70″. There are LCD televisions in smaller and larger sizes that may require a little more research to locate. The sizes available over 52″ and below 10″ are not popular consumer choices so they may run a bit higher in price than other LCD televisions on the market. The size of the screen may also have an effect on the resolution. If the resolution needs to be superb for your viewing activity, be sure to confirm the quality to size ratio.
