I was actually rather surprised with what I got when I paid for this camera. At first sight, $870 seems like a doozey of a price; however, if when you consider all that comes with it you’d actually think that it’d be a bit more expensive. Not only did I get a high quality camera, I got to lenses in the kit.

There are a few features that this camera offers that I was actually really surprised with. First of all, it comes with a 12.1 megapixel resolution –which is brilliant in and of itself, but if you’re like me and like a wide range of picture sizes, 12.1 megapixels is a Godsend. Then, of course, is the LCD screen. I’ve always been a big fan of touch screens –everything you need is literally at your fingertips. It erases the fuss of loads of button mashing and confusion. I was ecstatic when I received this camera, two lenses, and all the features that make a camera great.

It’s a simple, clean-cut camera that gets the job done and gives you a bit of variety as well. Very impressive, indeed.

For me, I’m always willing to pay a little extra for quality. The Nikon D5000 absolutely delivers. For $725, not only did I get a beautiful resolution, I got a brilliant lens and a filter. Besides the accessories, the camera itself is fabulous. A 12.3 megapixel resolution is nothing to sniff at, especially if you’re like me and you like your pictures huge. But by far and a way the coolest aspect of the camera is the LCD screen. Not only is having a touch screen on a camera genius idea, the screen actually moves! I mean, it moves! It allows you to get all kinds of perspectives on the image you’re trying to capture and then tucks back away when you’re finished.

The ISO sensitivity is remarkable. Now, at first I didn’t even know what that meant; however, after using the camera for a while, I realized that it meant that it allowed even dark environments to show up in your photo –which is awesome for shooting at night.

So all in all, it’s a fantastic camera and at a reasonable price for all the features you get.

I’m not going to beat around the bush. This camera is really expensive –$530. Not as expensive as some cameras I’ve seen, but for 10.1 megapixels, I’d expect it to be less expensive. It’s a good quality camera, but I could’ve used a wee bit better resolution for how much I had to pay. I know that I already bought the thing knowing what I was getting; that doesn’t stop me from being shocked at how low the resolution was when I finally took my pictures. Considering Nikon has manufactured 14 megapixel cameras for about 20% the cost to the customers, I wanted better picture quality. Granted, 10.1 megapixels will get you a pretty good image if you go big –about 20 x 30.

I suppose the bulk of the cost comes with the LCD touch screen –which is rather convenient when you don’t want to have to go through a host of buttons to get the feature you want. But honestly, I would’ve gone without that and settled for higher resolution for $500. But that’s just me.

So to sum up: a decent camera, a bit too expensive for what you get.

Alright, I’m going to dig right into this one. WAAAAAY too expensive for what I ultimately got. At a ridiculous $1699.95, I was expecting it to have the resolution of a 20 megapixel camera with all the trappings. What I got was a camera…that’s it! And the resolution was decent, but come on! If I’m going to shell out $1700 for a camera I’d at least expect a lens or something!

Okay, so the camera does have a few interesting features –for instance, it captures video in HD, which is awesome, I’ll admit. It also comes with two memory card slots. But really, all that extra stuff could’ve been traded for better resolution and zoom lens. Yeah, I paid for the camera. But I assumed the astronomical price meant that I would be getting a little bit more bang for the bank, you know what I mean? You can read all the literature and still be shocked when you find out that you’re paying for extraneous features.

I’m not saying I hate the camera –I mean it’s nice and all. But for that price I expected, I don’t know, a bit more in the way of camera not features.

Though I’m not pleased with the price –a staggering $469.95– I will say that Nikon hasn’t ever let me down. For the price, I was really expecting a higher resolution –this camera only provides a 6.1 megapixel resolution, way below par for a new Nikon. However, there is more than just a camera in the package so I’m not too upset. The camera includes an f3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor lens, a built in flash, and hot shoe –for those not in the know, that’s what mounts the flash.

Most impressive is the start up of the shutter response. Quite frankly, I love a camera that can capture movement beautifully –granted with the lower resolution, you’re not getting the overall quality that you may want; however, you’re able to capture up to 2.5 frames per second (so when you’re at a high school football game, you’re not getting a whole bunch of blur and missing scenes).

I’m not head over heels for the price and I’m certainly not jazzed about the low resolution. But all in all, this isn’t a bad camera –not great, but it gets the job done.

I’m going to go ahead and dig right in. This is the sexiest camera I’ve ever owned. It just reeks of sophistication and class. I mean, I would’ve paid well over $1000 for this –they’re asking for a measly $417.44. I know it seems a bit crazy me losing my mind over a camera. But you clearly haven’t experienced its magic. Can we just talk about the fact that it has its own built-in projector for a moment? I mean, I was completely blown away with the idea that you could have your own mini movie theatre in your camera –that creates some very clear picture, by the way.

Besides the awesome revelation of a mini projector, Nikon’s usual quality image results are what I’ve come to expect. The newest feature of the Nikon experience is its ability to soften the skin. I mean talk about a digital exfoliation! This camera actually detects the characteristics of the skin and softens them in the image so your picture turns out sharper. Brilliant!

Like I said, I would’ve paid out the nose for this camera. For the price they’re asking, you sure are getting more than you bargained for.

The first thing we should cover is the price. $189.99 for a camera that promises a 14.5 megapixel resolution –unheard of! I wasn’t quite sure that I read the description correctly when I clicked on it, but yes. Less than $200 for an astronomical resolution –that’s pretty much all the convincing I need to buy this camera. But when it comes to Nikon, there’s so much more involved than just awesome picture outcome. It’s all about the best presentation and the most amazing features. Besides the ridiculous image resolution, this camera has amazing video quality. I mean, once you get your video and then connect it to your television, you’re sure your watching cable television the image is so clear!

What’s more, this camera can read minds! Well, not exactly. Nikon has added a feature that knows what scene you’re trying to shoot and automatically adjusts the camera settings to fit that scene. The Scene Auto Selector is, quite frankly, one of the coolest features I’ve seen on a Coolpix since Nikon’s foray into the touch screens.

You’ll be in love with the price for sure. But the features far exceed expectation for how much you have to pay.

For the most part I’m a Kodak fan; however, when they didn’t have what I wanted in stock –and I was kinda in a hurry and didn’t want to wait– I went with the Coolpix. Boy was I in for a surprise. This camera is amazing! It’s sleek, compact, and gets the pictures you need with the highest possible resolution. For $220, I sure got a lot more than I expected.

Now, I expected the resolution to be pretty good considering it’s a 12 megapixel camera. But I wasn’t fully prepared for how clear the images were. I like making 8 x 10 inch copies, so the image resolution is a huge plus. Another feature that blew me away was LCD screen. I mean, with everything being some flavour of touch screen, it was only a matter of time before cameras got in on the action. It’s so convenient to touch the screen and your settings are just there. You don’t have to worry about what buttons to push; just touch your settings.

So, yes, it’s well-worth the money to get this camera. Especially if you’re looking for something cutting edge –and really cute at that!

Let’s cut to the chase. Everyone really wants to know how good this thing is at capturing I mean, you can’t really go wrong with 12.1 megapixels, right? A bit pricey –a whopping $350; however, it’s well worth the money. Especially if you’re a professional –or you moonlight as one like me– you can understand why this camera would actually cost so much. 12.1 megapixels is an insane resolution. You could capture a bird sneezing in a tree and still get a great image out of it.

This camera also comes with an EXPEED image processor –a new development in Nikon technology. This simply means you’ll be able to see the birds’ babies shield themselves for cover as she begins to sneeze.

Now, as far as getting perfect images every time, don’t hold your breath. There have been a couple times when I wanted to capture a lot of movement, mostly birds in flight –I’m a bird watcher by trade. Sometimes I’ve missed the moment I wanted because it took a second for the zoom to get its act together. But for the most part, this camera is great for photographers.

Where to begin? This camera is fabulous! I mean, it can capture even the most ridiculous images at the most ridiculous angles. It was well worth the $200 I spent to get it. I think anybody who loves to take pictures will be impressed with how precise and how clear the pictures turn out. The resolution on this thing is magnificent! With 10 megapixels, you can get the clearest pictures in the world and make prints as big as 20 x 30 inches –yes, I like my pictures huge, what can I say? I mean there aren’t many cameras on the market that get your pictures that big and still maintain the same quality –no pixelization, no fuzziness.

I think the coolest feature is its Continuous Scene Mode. My boyfriend runs track, so this camera is perfect for me. I usually only want to capture the finish line moment, so for the last 25 frames or so, I’m getting clear picture of my man getting over that line. It comes in handy when you’re trying to capture images that or on the move.

Trust me; anybody who takes pictures is going to want to get their hands on this camera.
